Goodbye

Great Grandma Grace passed away comfortably last Wednesday morning. She passed away at 97 years old. Up until about 2 years ago when she had a fall she lived on her own. Jay and I would always stop in to visit her when we headed her way and I really grew to love her. We got to know her ways of doing things and would spend time with her in her little home. We have some really great memories with her!

Jay drove down to the funeral today and I was unable to go because Paige was not feeling well. I just wanted to say Goodbye as well. When we got the news that Great Grandma Grace passed away, I felt that I needed to tell Hannah. Knowing that she would not understand but being open and honest with our kids is important I told her that her Great Great Grandma Grace went to Heaven today. She replied, "Oh, I want to go!" "Well Hannah Great Great Grandma Grace was 97 years old and you are only 2 years old. It is not your time yet" was my reply. Hannah and I looked at some photos when she was a baby and saw her Great Great Grandma. I think I felt like I needed to talk to Hannah about it all because one of her middle names is named after Grace. Maybe that she would be close by because of that... We will all really miss her and will remember her in our memories...
