Our new deck!!!

Brett came up last week to help get the deck done for us. Brent was here for one of those days and Bruno here the entire time and he finished it off today! We still need stairs coming up to the front door and off the dining room door. We won't be able to treat the wood till things warm up in the spring so we aren't in a hurry to get that done as we won't be using the front door till then because of all the mud we have when things are wet. It is super sticky and like clay. But Paige, Hannah and I sure enjoyed the deck today. We played on it and walked back and forth for about half an hour. Exactly what I imagined we would be able to do!!! Once the siding gets done then we will call the railing guy to come and put those in!

There is our Paiger with our dog. The story with the dog is that I saw this golden retriever and brought him home so that Jay would get used to the idea of us having a dog one day. He is a real part of our family now and is guarding the house now that the deck is done! By the way, it was a joke at first but the girls really like him now!

It was Mackenzie's 7th birthday this weekend so we went to the party at the Gymnastics club. The girls had a great time running/walking around. I did not get a picture of Hannah the whole time. She was just too busy!

Nadine made Kenzer her birthday cake for the first time in all Kenzer's years and it was fantastic. It was a Mermaid!

Ever tried to take pictures of a walking girl coming towards you?

I am not sure what Jay and I were doing when the girls were eating their dinner the other night but this is what we discovered when we entered the dining room...

Maybe Hannah needs some time set aside for finger painting?

I also want it on record that this was the day that Hannah over heard a bad word and repeated it all the way from the living room to the kitchen...."Oh #&@*, Oh #&@*, Oh #&@*". What I want on record is that it was not me she repeated but Daddy! OOpsy! Thankfully, we haven't had any repeats since!

So we are well on our way to getting to moving in! The painting is happening. Our painter was not available till this week so luckily Aaron was available and he has primed the entire house, painted some walls, prepped the walls and caulked the window sills and trims. So we will continue to keep moving. Mom vacuumed and prepped the walls this weekend and worked her butt off. I am so thankful to everyone that has helped us during this process. Jenn came out one day and helped me get trims sanded and a couple of walls primed. I worked all weekend painting, organizing etc.. Nadine watched the girls while Jay came up and packed away 2 loads of garbage. So as you can see everyone has been helping us tremendously in their own ways to get us into the house! Flooring is due to begin next week and cabinets the week after and the last minute plumbing and electrical. Then we get to move in!
