Date Night

We always said we would make an effort to go out and get babysitters when Hannah was born. Well last night was the first evening we left the house with Grandma Peggy watching Hannah. We were so excited to go out. We decided we would go to a movie that was not very long so we could be home if Hannah woke up. Although we were not too concerned but I thought it was funny how we chose a movie based on what time it started and how long it was instead of content. So we made sure Grandma had a bottle ready just in case. (Hannah has only been given a bottle one other time!) and off we went.

I was so excited to get out of the house with Jay for an evening it did not matter what we were doing! We made it to the movie theatre and there was a huge line up. We stood in line for a while and the movie we chose sold out. So we waited a bit longer for another movie and it was taking a while and thought that we would miss the beginning of it or it would be sold out by the time we got there so we decided we would go for a drink and some dessert.

When we got to the restaurant we ordered our drink and thought we had the dessert picked out till the waiter pulled out his trusty allergy book and it said that there were peanuts and product in it. The trusty little book also said that peanuts were in lemon meringe pie and all the other pies, the milkshakes and about every other dessert in the damn place. In case you did not know, Jay is allergic to nuts. So that means because Hannah is his child, Mom (Myself) cannot have nuts either while nursing our daughter. So we were both out of luck for dessert. The waiter felt so sorry for us that he gave us one of our drinks free. So nice of him. We sat and talked for a bit, watched part of the hockey game and decided we would get dessert from DQ. We picked it up at the drivethru and headed home.

When we got home our daughter was awake so it was good to be home and feed her and settle her. I am sure Grandma and Hannah would have been fine without us but we were home anyway.

At least we made an effort to go out. It just was not meant to be last night. We made the most of it though! I am looking forward to trying it more often!
