Thumb Sucker

In some ways the fact that Hannah sucks her thumb is a good thing. For one, we can tell when she is tired. For another, she can sooth herself. And another she keeps herself entertained. The down side of thumb sucking is that she forgets how to sooth herself and we have to put her thumb close to her mouth to encourage her to sooth herself to sleep! She is sooooo cute when she is sucking her thumb. I know that I will tease her when she gets older! Just like her Auntie! How fun for me! Hee hee! The other positive to her thumbsucking is that we don't have to plug her with a soother. It may take us longer to wean her off of the thumb than a soother (not in her cousin's case) but then again it may not!
I think it is the sweetest thing to see our daughter being soothed by herself! I just love her to death. I can't imagine life without her and all the new things she is doing!

Oh, what a little doll! I like her outfits!! ;) My kids REFUSED to use their thumbs or a soother. Calli wouldn't use either...Marin tried the soother a few times, but ended up just biting it. Good for teething...not good for soothing. Whatever works. (I felt guilty for trying a soother on Marin, and my Mum told me not to come crying to her when Marin was 5 and was refusing to give up her soother on her first day of Kindergarten!! Thanks for making me feel less guilty, Mama!!)
You are doing a fantastic job Chantelle. It shows in your daughters big smile!
