Main Floor

We have progress people!!!! After the floor boards were on last week, Brent hired a framing company to come in and help us with getting the first floor walls done while he was back in Kamloops finishing up some jobs. Bruno did alot of shoveling over those 2 days with the Septic installer! He also helped the framers do their work too. But now we have walls and a yard to look at! The excavator was here for 3 days giving us our landscape of our yard. Which I had never planned on worrying about till after the house was done but now seeing the flatlands I am excited to get things going in that area! We still have to level off the upper yard to hopefully accomodate an inground pool one day and some yard. Then comes the fencing, underground irrigation and turf layout. Not to mention the brick walkways and staircases up to the upper yard. But first things first....
Here is Bruno finishing up the main floor boards.
Here is Brent working on the East end of the main floor
The excavator, Bruce working on shaping our yard in the background.
Mom, the supervisor making sure Bruno is working his moneysworth. (is that a word?)
I couldn't wait to stand on the main floor! I asked Jay to stand about where I was to get a feel for where he will be washing dishes!
Walls!!! This is the view from the upper yard looking east and at our dining room and great room. The kitchen is at the back.
East and West walls going up. The styrofoam block edging is the garage that will be framed up soon!

The stairwell from inside the garage going to the basement. The guys securing the last outer wall on the main floor. This is the front of the house from the old driveway.
View of house from the old driveway.
Looking at the front door from the edge of the front yard.
The upper yard that still needs leveling. We will likely put in rock from the property along the walls in the lower and upper walls with flagstone staircases leading into the upper yard and yard beyond.
Here is the massive septic field we have being finished up.

Piping for the field being installed. I will have to show you the finished product. The septic field is on the right going up our new driveway to the house and it is park-like! I am really excited about it! We will clean it all up and be able to use it with some benches etc... If you have any ideas for us please feel free to share!

Hannah the tool girl! She has been banned from the house site. Having free rain on the construction site could turn out tragic. So now if we visit Hannah is secured in her wagon or the stroller or playing over in her play-yard.

Hannah is copying Mackenzie like crazy these days. Having a 6 1/2 year old train a 2 year old is not a good thing!

Hannah, Paige and I went over to a friends house last week. It is a group of mom's I met when I first moved to WL and we try to get together every now and then. The girls are all around the same age. In that they are all 2 this year so it was good to visit and have them play. Also to see other 2 year olds and how they interact! I think we are on par with other 2 year olds and thier temperments. A reassuring thing for us!

The girls and I are so used to packing things up for the day so we made a little picnic to bring out on our visit and we snacked with some of the other girls.

Braeden came for a visit with Kenzer. We decided to try him in the Bumbo chair. Doesn't fit like Paige does but he liked it. When I tried to pick him up and give him some attention he started to cry until I put him back down!
When Mackenzie comes over she sometimes like to dress up in my graduation dress from highschool. Yes the white one was mine. We do have it safety pinned behind her but I definately could not put it on right now! So it makes a good dressup dress! We thought Hannah would like to dress up in a white dress too so we dug up an old dress Mackenzie wore at our wedding! Don't they look adorable? Hannah loved twirling around in it!

Paiger is pushing herself backwards, rolling all over the floor to get to where she wants to go and getting up on her knees and rocking but no crawling yet! I am sure it will be soon! Then we are in trouble. I think I am busy now!!!
Here is our blue eyed girlie! 8 months old now!

Paige hangs out on the mat up at the property and is rolling all over the place. She does not like to be confined in contraptions anymore. She needs to be rocking and a rolling! She has also began to copy us clapping and making sounds. Ba Ba Ba is quite popular right now!

Hannah is sure looking out for her sister these days.... If Paige is fussing (which is not too often) she will hear her and say, " I'm coming Honey!" or " sh, sh, sh" of "Paiger, I'm coming"! It is really quite neat to see and hear. They laugh and roll on the living room floor and Hannah gives her lots of hugs. She is very aware when Paige is not with us (down for a nap, or if it is just Hannah and I out on an errand). I don't know if I mentioned this in an earlier blog but one day Hannah and I went out to do something (I can't remember what I do from day to day anymore) and all of a sudden we were in the van and she says, " Mommy, we lost Paiger!" She just realized we did not have Paige with us! It was really sweet! Hannah has also figured out how to open her bedroom door in the middle of the night and turn on her overhead lights! Nice! So now we have those doorknob thingy's on her inside (I tried the gate on the outside of the door but she yelled so loud a couple of nights in a row and then I had to deal with two kids awake in the middle of the night). So now we have the door closed and hear the calling out and no little sister's waking up! We also have removed the light bulbs from the overhead lights and have a solar night light in the room! Things are a changing and evolving and we just have to go with the flow! As my doctor put it... you have two kids now so you have to learn how to be flexible! Does she not know me? But I must say I am learning.....I am sure my mom would vouch for me on that one! She has seen it first hand!
