ABC's

The idea for this blog came from our friend Jennilyn's blog. I was inspired tonight to take a look at doing it for myself. It is a good exercise to do once a while to take a look into your own life and really think about things.... Some of them meaningful and others just for fun!!!
A is for AGE:
I just said to Jay the other day that in two months I am going to be 32. He started to laugh and asked if I was serious. I said, "Yes I was!' He said, "You're going to be 33!" What a blow that was! Can I blame it on "baby brain"?
B is for BOOZE of choice:
I would have to say it is beer. Since Cayman I have really enjoyed a nice cold Corona! Of course I am not limited to just Coronas. I like Kokanee, MGD, Sleemans, oh who am I kidding, I like them all as long as they are in a bottle and cold!
C is for CAREER:
My career right now is baby Hannah! That is very time consuming and requires tons of study! I am a perioperative nurse and absolutely love that kind of nursing. Don't think I would like to go back to the wards. I don't think I am done with my nursing studies. There are so many choices. Maybe teaching nursing students one day will be in my future.
D is for DOG:
We had a wonderful Shetland Sheepdog named Sugar when I was growing up. She went missing 2 days before Christmas when I was in Grade 11. I was very sad and looked everywhere for her.
E is for ESSENTIAL items I use/love EVERYDAY:
Around here it is diapers and toiletry items for us!
F is for FAVORITE song(s) at the moment:
I am terrible with names. When I am driving in the car I either like the music I hear or I don't. I don't always know the names of the songs or who is singing it. I usually have to ask Jay. I am liking John Mayer and James Blunt right now.
G is for favortie GAMES:
Right now it is crib because my hubbie and I are playing together! I love the quality time. Lately we have played a game a night! I think the odds are even although I do have to say the other night I kicked butt with a 21 hand!
H is for HOMETOWN:
I grew up in Surrey but have not really been back since moving to the Okanagan. I don't really consider it a hometown. Maybe we will be in WL for a long time and I will consider it my hometown one day too.
I is for INSTRUMENTS:
I played the recorder in grade 7 ( a requirement) and played in Band to Grade 10 with the clarinet. BORING to me! Might think differently now. I am hoping Hannah gets some of her uncles musical talents though!!!
J is for JAM or JELLY:
My favorite is apple jelly. My Grandma used to make it also Blackberry jelly too!
K is for KIDS:
Our wonderful neice, Mackenzie will always be a huge part of our lives and now we also have our own daughter Hannah! Maybe more to come one day!!!
L is for LAST kiss:
Jay just came in to see if I needed anything and left me with a kiss! He is always good at that!
M is for MOST admired trait:
I had to look up the meaning of trait because I did not want to mix it up with values, morals, characteristics etc.. The internet defined trait as "a distinguishing feature of your personal nature". I suppose my most distinguishing feature of my personal nature is my organizational abilities. It carries me in my career and personal life! Sometimes good, sometimes bad. I am not as organized as I used to be which is probably a good thing.... I think!
N is for NAME of my crush:
First and foremost Jay, my husband. I love seeing his smile each and everyday! Now I could also say I have a thing for Rockstars. Jay led me down that path. He took me to a Bon Jovi concert. At the time I was being the supportive girlfriend until I saw Bon Jovi in concert! He is amazing. When I watch him in concert I am getting the full meal deal! Have you ever seen him in concert? I am telling you, you are missing out if you haven't! My last crush was Tobey Rand off of Rockstar SuperNova! Too bad he lost!
O is for OVERNIGHT hospital stays:
Other than working overnight it was when we had Hannah. I did not think I would like the experience but I was proven wrong. We were brought food and looked after for 3 days then it was welcome to reality when we got home!
P is for PHOBIAS:
Little bit of a hypochondriac. That probably comes from my nursing knowledge. I could live in a bubble and be perfectly happy with knowing all the things that could happen to people. But that would not be healthy for myself or for Hannah!
Q is for QUOTES I like:
I was watching Oprah the other day and they were talking about the new movie "Bobby". It is about Robert Kennedy and the events leading up to his death. He was big on advancing the human rights movement. The speech he made one day in the 1960's was incredible. It was about all people being equal. Black/white, rich/poor, big/small - we are all in this world together, was the just of it. I really would like to find that speech somewhere so that I can remember all the words. My reiteration really doesn't do it justice! It was really inspiring to say the least.
R is for biggest REGRET:
I really cannot think of any regrets. Everything I have done and we have done, we have done for a reason! If things don't turn out the way we thought they should've we try to believe that is the way it was supposed to happen. I am a real believer in things happening for a reason. We may not always agree or be able to figure them out though!
S is for SWEETS of your choice:
I love M&M's, brownies, mars bars, chocolate covered almonds (can't have until I am done nursing Hannah), chocolate covered strawberries, DQ ice cream logs, DQ caramel chip cheesequake blizard (thanks to Jenn for that one!). I am more of a sweets girl that a salt girl.
T is for TIME you wake up:
Lately it has been around 7/730 when Hannah wakes up. It is the best thing in the world to walk in her room and have her cooing away and she sees us and has the BIGGEST smile ever!!!
U is for UNDERWEAR:
Men's boxer briefs any day over a banana hammock! On men that is!
V is for VEGETABLES you love:
I love sweet potatoe, spagetti squash, cauliflower, brocoli, Jay's garden fresh carrots and peas, cucumber, zuchini, spinach, romaine over ice berg lettuce anyday, cabbage. celery, corn, fresh green beans.... I am trying to eat more everyday. If it is cut up and washed already I find I eat more because it is ready to go!
W is for WORST habit:
Biting my nails. Go through phases. Have to take really good care of my nails and have polish on so that I don't bite.
X is for XRAYS you have had:
Chest Xrays, Dental Xrays and ultrasound for medical imaging.
Y is for YUMMY food you make:
Not very creative in this department. Have to follow recipes. Jennilyn gave me her recipe in the summer for Mango salsa that I love to make and put on my eggs and potatoes. The fresh cilantro reminds me of Mexico. Thanks for that JL.
Z is for ZODIAC sign:
I am an aquarius.
