McLeese Lake

Jay was away all last week for work and we decided we would meet him on the way to camp before coming home. Nadine, Aaron, Mackenzie, Hannah and I loaded up the trailer and took it out for the weekend. Jay met us there. It was so nice to get away for the weekend and not to have to drive very far! We all needed it after the week we had had. Jay worked long hours at work, Nadine worked all week long, Aaron found out his surgery would not be till Sept at the earliest and we had to change daycare for Hannah. Work is going fine for me. I am orientating and that is busy. But it is going well. The daycare we had Hannah in was only changing her diaper once or twice a day. Jay had a run in with her the week before about water. We send 8oz of water and 8oz of milk with her each day. She was coming home with most of her water and 1/4 milk left. The daycare lady told Jay that she does not give her the water cause she doesn't drink it and he said she drinks it when she is with us... So what is she getting in the day. Well... soups and stuff.... Hmmmm.... So he asked her to please give her the water and the daycare lady said she could not be expected to keep giving it to her when she had seven other children and that she should be drinking it on her own by now! Hmmm... The clincher was that I picked her up on Thursday and one of the last things reported to me was that she had Honey Nut Cherrios. Not Honey Nut Cheerios, I say? She says yes. My daughter (who is 11 years old) had given them to her when I was not in the room.... Background here. Jay is allergic to nuts. Badly. So because we don't know if Hannah has inherited it we do not give her nuts until she is old enough to be supported should there be a reaction. Well mistakes happen but she did not call to tell me what happened and said she monitored her to see if a rash or swelling of the throat happened. By then it could be too late! So needless to say we are now looking for another daycare. It is fun stuff! It is so hard to know what to do!

Anyway, on to our wonderfully deserved weekend away! Nadine and Aaron slept in a tent and the girls slept in the trailer. Well Mackenzie ended up going to the tent the first night but she was in our trailer in the morning. I think Jay and I got the raw end of the deal as we were up early with the kids! I think Nadine and Aaron need some morning practice so next time, Jay and I will sleep in the tent!

Here is Kenzer the morning we are leaving to go back home!
Nadine and Aaron.... Congrats to you two!
On the way home Jay and I had the girls in the truck. Mackenzie was so tired she zonked out right away. Only, Hannah was not thinking that was a good idea! At the expense of Mackenzie, Jay and I had a really good laugh. Hannah was kicking Kenzer in the face, squacking, pulling at her glasses and her hat just to get some attention and Mackenzie did not wake up. So after some tears from laughing so hard and some pictures I decided to put a stop to it and move Kenzer to the other side. She did not budge!
Hannah is a bruisere. She was trying to grab Kenzer's hair and pull. And she can pull! To Mackenzie's discomfort it is not so fun! But she keeps coming back for more!
It is very difficult to get everyone to look at the camera, especially a one year old!
Fish bowl syndrome! We have bunkbeds in the trailer and Hannah sleeps in one of them. She was liking the curtains in there too much and playing peek a boo out them when she would go to bed so we removed them this trip and put a towel over the outside of the window. We were outside talking to some friends during her nap when we heard a knocking sound. It was Hannah and she was awake. Pushing her face up against the window! Too funny!

Here is Hannah beating up her Dad!

Hannah and Mackenzie in the wagon when we first got to the campground. They love playing together!
Here is Auntie getting little missy cooled off!
She loved playing in the water. Jay is trying to catch some big/little minows....
And this is were Hannah enjoyed most of the day. No nap till very late and Dad and Mom getting a sunburn and we should know better! Hannah had lots of sun protection... thank goodness!
Here is Kenzer with a dirty dirty face! She just caught a little fish on her new rod! We let them go! It was fun just casting off the dock. I had won a spin cast rod at Surplus Herbie's on the long weekend and this was the first time we could try it out! We didn't catch anything worth keeping but it was fun none the less!

We ended our trip with stopping off at the Sani Station to dump our waste for the first time. We emptied everything alright but when I got the hose going I lost control of it and got soaked! Jay got some of it too! Too funny! We said our goodbyes to Nadine, Aaron and Mackenzie and unpacked and played in our house with Hannah. We did take a drive up to the property to check it out as it is officially ours now! Yippee! Building here we come! Not till next year though!

Sounds like a fun trip! You should not have had any problem catching those minnows, Jay. Apparently, you don't catch anything bigger anyways!
