Beaver Lake

My Mom keeps reminding me to take as many pictures of baby belly as I did for Hannah. So we have begun! This picture is 21 weeks. I think I have expanded more since then as we are now 23 weeks! It sure is different the second time around being prego! Just not as much time to think about it as we had for number one!

After our experience with temper girl at Lac La Hache we were hesitant about taking Hannah away for an entire week to Beaver Lake. We had made all the arrangements to see as many people as we could as the Lake was 30 min outside of Kelowna and about 40 minutes from Vernon. So after some careful thought and persistance we decided to persevere and take the trip anyway. Hannah was great on the trip by the way! We also took Kenzer for the week too! On our way down I decided it was time to introduce some gravol to Hannah. Thinking that it would help her to sleep on the long drive if nothing else.... Well.... Gravol has no sleeping effect on Hannah. She slept about two 10-20 minute intervals on our 9 hour trip! The ENTIRE day! HMmmm. Now what? Well I think that she may be getting car sick so at least it helped with that. We also had Mackenzie's DVD player but that only held Hannah's attention so long! By the time we left town and ended up in Kamloops I was not sure we would make it to Beaver Lake that day but we did. We stopped in Kamloops to meet Kristal and Derek's new little boy, Carson and see Diane on the way! That was a nice stop. I forgot how small they are and he was not tiny by any means! Congrats to the new parents!

When we finally made it the Beaver Lake and chose our campsite Jay took Hannah and Kenzer to the park to play while I got everything ready for bedtime! They needed the downtime from being in the car so long! They were real troopers. Mackenzie asked how much longer ab out 3 minutes into the drive and so we went town by town for the countdown! Too cute! Hannah has now decided she can crawl as well as scoot on her bum. Still slower than scooting for sure but seems to really enjoy the new mobilization method!

Grandma Peggy was at Mabel Lake for the weekend and decided she would come visit for an hour before driving back to Abbotsford. She took the picture of our trailer/campsite setup! It worked really well for Hannah and Kenzer to have the tarps down to play on! That is when they weren't at the park! Which was a lot!Hannah was wrestling with her cousin on the bed! It was really funny to see Hannah knock Kenzer down and then try to tickle her! Kenzer sure is good with H!

Here is Mackenzie swinging all by herself at the park. She can now get the momentum down herself!
The nice thing about the trailer is that we were able to turn on the heat one morning and give the girls a bath in the trailer! These pics are after they had thier one and only bath on the trip!

See the curly cues! Too funny! This is our little ham! She is really quite comical these days!
Hannah had no fear going down this slide by the end of the week! She was terrified of the swing though! I think we will leave that out for a little while longer!

Dad and MaryAnn came out three evenings but we missed them the first evening and Dad came out an extra evening to pick up Kenzer for a night! It was really great to see them. They got Hannah a really neat walking car by Dora the Explorer and Hannah can't get enough of it! Mackenzie got a painted pottery set that she really wanted to try out on the camping trip but that didn't happen!
Hannah was all over the playground and toys! We also got a visit from our friends Terri and Craig from Vernon. They were working afternoons so they came for a morning to visit. It has been a year since we saw them last so it was good to catch up a little. They have a trailer as well so we will have to meet them somewhere for a camp soon!
Here is Mackenzie leading her friends at the Park playing Cinderella. I think Kenzer was Cinderella and the other two were the Step sisters. It sure was not like the book. Kenzer was the one leading the pack! We were amazed at how many kids were at the park unsupervised. Even though the rules were to have adult supervision. Jay quite often brought his chair and read his book while Kenzer played at the park. I was either napping with Hannah or getting food or bedtime ready. Didn't get to see my hubbie much but appreciated that he looked after the fun for the kids!

More friends came to visit! Robin, Jim and Jack were visiting family in Kelowna and decided to come out with Michelle and Gary for the afternoon/evening on Wednesday! It was so great to see them all! Jack is about one and a half months older than Hannah and started walking a month ago! We are definately not in a hurry for Hannah to walk! She will be walking for the rest of her life...not to mention ours! Wow was he busy! It was neat to see them play together! Jay says Jack can be on the short list of potential boyfriends! But after seeing Jack walk all over Hannah he may be down at the bottom now! He's got some work to do! Thanks for visiting you three!
Here is Michelle, Robin, Jack and Hannah at the end of the dock. We were sending the boys off for some fishing! Gary caught something within the the first half hour.... then nothing! Apparently it was a group effort without Jim's story telling and Jay's navigation it could not have happened otherwise!
Here is Gary's attempt at getting ready for fishing! Good thing the light in the picture was dark as if you look a little closer he is only wearing his fishing vest and no shirt! Kind of scary. He ended up putting a shirt back on and good thing. He may not have caught that fish!
While the boys were out we took the kids to the park for a bit then I Spa'ed the girls. For those of you that don't know, I have a side business that I have been trying out with BeautiControl. It is essentially Spaaing women and teaching them how to take a few moments out of their day to take care of themselves. The products are fabulous and make you feel really good. They get to sample as much as they like in the comfort of their own home! It is really fun for me and relaxing to see people enjoying themselves. So I had my products and gave them some treatments to try! This one was a lip treatment! Don't they look fabulous? Thier lips felt good after.... or so they told me! I am off to Dallas on the first for a Conference with BeautiControl and am looking forward to it! I will update you when I get back. Jay will be home with Hannah! How fun for them!
The day before we were to head home we went into to town to get some shopping down. Before heading up to the campsite we got some gas and our truck would not start. Not good. We called Dad for help and he came and we also called BCAA and towed it to a garage that stayed late for us and fixed the alternator that was shot. It could not have worked out any better considering the circumstances. Dad let us use his truck and our truck was fixed that evening. At least it was not when we were pulling the trailer or stuck on the side of the road somewhere! Someone was looking out for us!
The next day we made it about 30 minutes into the drive and Hannah was tired and we knew it would be a long drive so we pulled over at a pullout by Wood Lake and put Hannah down for a much needed nap and Kenzer and I went for a swim! Kenzer loves the water and because of how busy we were during the trip and how cool it was up at Beaver she only got to swim at Wood Lake for the second time so she was soooo excited! I really enjoyed relaxing by the water for a bit too!

Mackenzie had a loose tooth before we left on our trip. Well not just a loose tooth, her FIRST loose tooth. Her Mom was sooooo excited about this but had a feeling that she would lose it on our trip. Well the day before we were to leave Kenzer made it bleed and I told her to leave it till tomorrow when she got home. Well she did not and it came out on our drive back into town. Luckily I had her mom on the phone so she could hear Kenzer's reaction! It was pretty exciting! She lost it though while we were driving and I had to pull over to retrieve it. It was a lot of responsibility for my to be in charge of this tooth. I knew I would get it if it was lost! The tooth fairy visited Kenzer when she got home as that is where the Tooth Fairy knows she lives. It worked out well. Here is the missing tooth girl! Too cute!
Overall our trip was a success. It had it's ups and downs. We were able to see alot of friends and family and do some shopping. It sure was busy with two kids that are in different age groups so their schedules were different too. Leaving Jay on Kenzer duty and me on Hannah duty. Jay and I need a vacation all on our own now! Well I guess it will be by ourselves; me in Dallas and Jay on a fishing trip with the guys when I get back! Our trailer is working out really well and we are having fun with it! Don't think we would have done as much camping as we have without it! It will be a great family investment down the road!
