And then the rain came....
RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY! COME BACK AGAIN WHEN THE HOUSE IS DONE!!!!
Saturday we got a huge downpour in the evening and then for Sunday am as well. Suffice to say that our yard and driveway were mud bogged down.... So we shut down operations and let the weather take over. We had to block the driveway as well. That is another story in itself as the gravel drive was included in our land price and we have been having troubles with it. It had to be built up and there is a soft spot about 50 feet long that causes us troubles. We had gravel trucks coming up on Saturday and they dug down to the fill. So we now have to deal with the soft spot in the drive sooner than later.... So we will let things dry out for a while. Now I wake up to more rain today....
Monday was a beautiful day. The girls and I went up to spend the day and the sun shone all day long. It was really neat for me to be up there all day with the girls and watch things go on. I sat on the swing and played with the girls and just puttered around a bit. The guys were able to finish our dig and the dig for the frost walls so that is really great. We just have some ditch work to do with the spring we hit the other day. It is just a trickling stream but good that we can deal with it now and not later when the house is built. So when the guys get back from their other job then they will be well on their way!

Here is our extended hole with the garage on the other side... I told Jay it is almost his hockey rink!
Here is the ditch we had to make for the drainage to go from the tiny spring we discovered last week.
Brett and the excavator in the garage.

Hannah watching all the action from a distance while Paige sleeps.
She is becoming quite the little model!
Here is some of the drain work we have to do for the spring. Lots of drain rock and BIG O drain pipe.

Here is approximately where our new - second driveway will go. We shouldn't have to take out many more trees and it will be an s curve. Hopefully Gordon, Jay's Papa can help me mark it out this week so we can get that in and then the pump cement trucks will be able to get in.

WOW! Things are really moving along! Too bad the weather is not co-operating for you. I can't wait to see the finished product! It is kind of neat that you guys are sort of camping up there while things are getting done. Maybe with all the observation, Hannah will go in to construction with her Uncle?
