What a difference a day makes....

As you all know we have been busy! We had a few roadblocks. Since the roadblocks we hung up a horseshoe on one of the trees to bring us some luck!
Here are the guys working on the footings! What the house structure depends most on!
Here is the overview of the house. The cutouts in the earth are the post holders for our front deck.
Here is the first attempt at pouring the footings. Unfortuntately the rain would not hold out for us and the driveway therefore gave way to the cement truck. ARGH...
Here is the carnage in the drive from the cement truck.

The girls and I have been hanging out helping out wherever we can! Paige and Hannah have been loving up there! Hannah now asks to go to the property. She also talks about the big machines and the fact that Uncle Brett, Grandpa Bruno and Grandpa Brent are all building the house.
Paigers!

Fron the spring we hit a while back we had to ditch it out and provide adequate drain site for the water to go so that it will not affect our house! So in go the drains, rock and fabric....

Here is the excavator straddling the ditch (made me uneasy but hey they are the experts) to fill it all in!
Then the culvert laid down for the new driveway we needed to get done so that the cement trucks could actually come up.
New driveway..... so pretty and no problems whatsoever!

Here is a picture of our front fenceline. Our driveway entrance is at the far end.

Sometimes it is good to contain the kidlets!!!

And now it begins! Bruno and Brent leveling off the cement for the footings!
Brettman taking care of business!
Nice to have family members who know what they are doing! He looks pretty happy in his work!
The cement truck driver is Jay's cousin! It was a pretty exciting day for us to have everyone involved and actually have things begin.

Finito!

Paige helping Mommy do the laundry! She had her 6 month checkup and weighs about 20lbs. She is only 6 lbs away from her sister!

Hannah Banana opening her birthday presents!
Guess she was tired after all that and had to have a nap!
Hannah's cupcake bday cake! Thought that pic was appropriate for the entrance to the TERRIBLE TWOS!
We had a party for her with family and friends up at the property and the weather and company was fantastic. It was a really great experience having so many people come up and share our property and the excitement with us. That morning we also got our foundation walls poured! YIPPEEE!Hannah hanging with Uncle Brett. She sure is loving having all her family around so often. It is Uncle Brett this Uncle Brett that. And then now also Uncle Mitch tickle me! Uncle chase me and so on!
So now we are just getting the perimeter drains, lines ready for the backfilling once the first floor is on! Can't wait to have the lumber come in! Then we will be able to envision things better!
