Manual Labor Week

While Brent and Brett have been back in Kamloops working on a job there Mom, Bruno and I have been taking care of some of the house stuff. Thank goodness for parents! They have been working hard to help us with the house. Yesterday Hannah and Paige hung out and played in the dirt while Mom, Bruno and I leveled off the fill for the basement floor. No easy task I tell you! About 20yards of dirt was leveled in one day by us three! We have some more to do tomorrow. Can anyone say sore?
When Hannah woke up yesterday I told her that we would be going up to the property to play in the dirt and she said, "It is a happy day!" This has been ever since her Birthday that some days are happy days! On the drive home from digging in the dirt all day she said, "I am happy!" Good thing! Hannah also helped up fill the wheelbarrow with our dirt. At the end of the day when there was an end in sight, she started to "help" again! Unfortunately it was from the area we had already completed!

This pile was much higher 4 hours ago. We leveled it off by the end of the day! Who knew how much shoveling would be required for this house building business! I told Jay that I was never giving up this house and that if I ever say that it is too "small" remind me of this day!
Paige-A-Roni hanging out! Today Paige rolled from her back to her tummy for the first time! She has been sitting up now and playing as well as rolling from her tummy to her back for a while now! She also has slept 2 nights in a row without waking up. Thank goodness. So why am I up at 2 am writing this blog? Good question!
Mom, Bruno and I also put up the waterproofing membrane around the house last weekend. Well in between watching the kids we have all been working hard. Bruno most of all....Thank you! Then came the drain piping that he put together and then the drain rock that the backhoe operater (Rick) laid around the perimeter and we (Mostly Bruno) had to level out and shovel over the footings. We had an inspection today to see how much more waterproofing we needed to do and we have more to do but right now we are concentrating on getting the basement floor prepped for the concrete guys to finish.
Connection of pipe from basement floor to around the garage.
At the end of the day the girls are happy to get in the tub and wash away all the fresh air and dirt we have gotten into!
Sisters!
Jay and I had to go up to the property and cover up the floor system that was delivered a bit too early and we wanted to make sure that we protected it while we wait for it to be put up and when we came down around the corner from doing that we saw this double rainbow!
So we are getting there with the house. Jay comes up on lunch breaks and after work to bring us food or whatever we need. He is still busy with work to the end of the month and when that is done..... look out for the manual labor boy! Oh and of course for family time too!
